Economic development doesn’t just happen. It’s the result of vision, strategic planning, and committed leadership. Across Canada, and especially here in Alberta, communities rely on elected officials to be more than policymakers. They are connectors, champions, and catalysts for sustainable, inclusive prosperity.
So Why Does It Matter?
Because thriving communities don’t build themselves. It takes elected officials who are willing to roll up their sleeves, listen deeply, plan strategically, and act boldly. Economic development isn’t about slogans or shiny brochures—it’s about meaningful leadership that brings people together around shared goals.
Whether you’re a councillour, mayor, reeve, or MLA, your leadership sets the tone. Your decisions shape the path forward.
