Lethbridge, AB…Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL) in partnership with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ have launched their annual Brighter Together Survey. The survey helps measure the current economic climate and better understand challenges businesses anticipate for the year ahead.
“The insights gained from the survey help us ensure we are addressing issues of consequence for the local business community,” says Mike Prociw, Workforce Program Manager, Economic Development Lethbridge. “Feedback garnered from the survey is used to plan for the year ahead and helps us focus on targeting the priority areas where the business community is seeking assistance.”
Some key findings from the 2025 survey include:
– The biggest locational strength to doing business in the Lethbridge area is Post-Secondary Presence.
– The biggest locational challenge to doing business in the Lethbridge is the Municipal Tax Environment.
– The top three obstacles Lethbridge businesses anticipated for 2026 were the cost of insurance, labour costs and the impact of tariffs.
“Businesses have faced a great deal of uncertainty in recent years with the implementation of tariffs and elevated energy costs adding to a list of ongoing challenges, says Cyndi Crane, Chief Executive Officer of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce. “It’s not always easy for them, and we know that, and that’s why it’s so important for businesses to let us know how we can best help. Results from the survey ensure we are putting our efforts in the most impactful areas in order to help provide access to information and assistance where it is most needed.”
The 2026 edition of the Lethbridge Brighter Together Survey is now live on both the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Lethbridge websites.
