LETHBRIDGE, AB – Economic Development Lethbridge, through its Canada’s Western Gateway initiative, is bringing together industry leaders, businesses, and regional partners for In Motion 2026: Southern Alberta’s Trade and Logistics Conference, taking place October 29–30 at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge.

The conference will explore the opportunities and challenges shaping Southern Alberta’s role as a growing hub for trade, transportation, and logistics. Through industry-led discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities, In Motion 2026 aims to strengthen connections between businesses, communities, and organizations working to advance the region’s economic competitiveness.

“In Motion is about bringing people together who are shaping the future of trade and logistics in Southern Alberta,” said Rylan Howard, Cluster Development Manager for Canada’s Western Gateway. “We have tremendous opportunities in this region, but realizing that potential requires collaboration between businesses, communities, and industry partners. Our hope is that the conversations and connections made at this conference lead to meaningful opportunities well beyond the event itself.”

Conference programming will cover a range of topics, including manufacturing and supply chain resilience, rail connectivity, workforce development, emerging technologies, and cross-border trade infrastructure. Speakers from across Canada and the United States will share perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing the movement of goods.

A central theme of the conference is the importance of regional collaboration in strengthening Southern Alberta’s position within North American trade networks.

“Southern Alberta’s economic potential is closely connected to our ability to work together across municipal boundaries and industry sectors,” said Trevor Lewington, Director of Growth and Engagement with Lethbridge County. “Through initiatives like Canada’s Western Gateway and events like In Motion, we’re building the relationships and partnerships needed to strengthen our region’s position as a key trade and logistics corridor.”
Canada’s Western Gateway is a regional economic development initiative led by Economic Development Lethbridge, working alongside municipal and industry partners to support trade, transportation, investment, and economic growth along the Highway 4 corridor.
