Lethbridge, AB… Economic Development Lethbridge is pleased to announce that Nordicity, a globally
respected consulting firm specializing in the creative and cultural industries, has been awarded the contract
to lead a major feasibility study to explore the development of a Creative Industries Hub in Southwest
Alberta.

Funded through the Alberta Government’s Northern and Regional Economic Development (NRED) Program
and supported by a coalition of 16 industry and community partners, this study aims to assess the potential
for a regionally anchored hub that supports growth in sectors such as film, digital media, music, e-sports,
design, and game development.

Nordicity brings deep expertise in policy design, market analysis, and strategic planning for creative industry
ecosystems across Canada and internationally. Their extensive portfolio includes work with municipal,
provincial, and national clients, and a strong track record in designing clusters, supporting workforce
development, and evaluating infrastructure needs for creative hubs.

“Establishing a Creative Industries Hub would be a game-changer for our region,” said Renae Barlow, Vice
President of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Economic Development Lethbridge.
“This project represents a bold step forward in amplifying creative talent, building industry capacity, and
supporting inclusive innovation across southern Alberta.”

The feasibility study will include extensive community engagement, potentially including roundtables,
interviews, and surveys with local creatives, entrepreneurs, and organizations to ensure the hub reflects the
