Background:
With an early-stage investment of nearly $20 million, this innovative and first of its kind, fully continuous, Agrifood
Processing and Testing Facility represents the first phase of a much larger project. This initial investment
combined with the Government’s support, demonstrates a strong commitment for the further development of a
globally recognized agrifood focused innovation ecosystem in southern Alberta. In addition to creating
approximately 7 full-time highly skilled jobs and 35 temporary construction jobs, this collaboration will result in new
business opportunities and drive further economic growth.

PIP will also provide an update on the next phase of their project to establish a wet fractionation yellow pea protein
facility with a forecasted annual capacity of approximately 126,000 metric tons. This major facility at the heart of
Canada’s Premier Food Corridor will be a milestone development for Alberta’s growing presence in the plant
protein sector.
