Lethbridge - Lethbridge ranks fourth among Canada’s Best Places for Business
Canadian Business and PROFIT unveil their 2nd annual ranking of municipalities

LethbridgeProduced by two of the country's best-known business media outlets — Canadian Business and PROFIT — the 2016 Canada's Best Places for Business ranking factors in more than 20 indicators of cost, market trends and business friendliness collected from various sources and participating municipalities. The ranking is designed to help entrepreneurs and executives make smarter decisions on where to start, expand or relocate their enterprises.

“It takes the support of an entire community to foster successful businesses,” said James Cowan, Editor-in-chief of Canadian Business and PROFIT. “The municipalities on our ranking show a clear commitment to business-friendly policies and economic development. That’s good news for their business owners, entrepreneurs and residents."

“We know that recognition like this comes through collaboration with our community partners as well the staff at the City who provide a high-level of service to the business community and new investors,” says Mayor Chris Spearman. “We can be proud of this recognition but also recognize that we will need to continue to provide high levels of support and service if we are to sustain our success in supporting existing business and attracting new investment in our city.”

This list aims to identify those communities that strike an optimal balance between prosperous markets, reasonable costs and business-friendly taxation and regulation. According to the results, Lethbridge “boasts an entrepreneurial, integrated science and engineering environment and plenty of food expertise.”

“It’s great to see Lethbridge receive such profile among the 219 communities that were analyzed,” says Economic Development Lethbridge CEO Trevor Lewington. “The industries that were highlighted reflect the quality of local businesses, the strength of our post-secondary institutions and the wealth of support services available in our community, particularly aimed at entrepreneurs.”
