Indigenous Entrepreneur Summit returns to YQL
Business Link’s Indigenous Entrepreneur Summit returns to Lethbridge and the Tecconnect Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation on Monday, November 26, 2018.
The summit, sponsored by the Regional Innovation Network of Southern Alberta (RINSA), offers Indigenous entrepreneurs the opportunity to forge connections with small business support organizations and get one-on-one advice from industry experts. The Summit also includes presentations on topics including starting a business on reserve, managing social media, and financing.
“Business Link’s Indigenous Entrepreneur Summits were created to celebrate and promote Indigenous entrepreneurship, as well as to bring current or potential local Indigenous entrepreneurs together with local service providers to build relationships, highlight tools, resources and programs,” said Holly Atjecoutay, Indigenous Business Facilitator at Business Link. “We recognize the unique realities that Indigenous entrepreneurs face and we want to provide solutions and connections that will assist in the future of small business in Indigenous communities.”
“We are very pleased to bring entrepreneurial Indigenous programming to Tecconnect as part of Economic Development Lethbridge’s commitment to the City of Lethbridge’s Reconciliation Implementation Plan,” said Renae Barlow, Economic Development Lethbridge’s Vice-President, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. “By working with partners from around Alberta, we are able to support Indigenous entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to market and provide ongoing support and guidance.”
The first Lethbridge edition of the Indigenous Entrepreneur Summit, held at Teconnect in February, attracted 34 attendees.
