Sixth Edition of Brighter Together Survey to Highlight Lethbridge Business Strengths

Lethbridge, AB…The sixth edition of the Lethbridge Brighter Together survey will highlight the strengths and identify challenges when it comes to doing business in Lethbridge. The survey, a partnership between
Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL), Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Lethbridge BRZ will look for feedback from Lethbridge and area businesses when it comes to the state of business in
Lethbridge.


“We want to make sure the business community in our city has the opportunity to provide feedback to our organization and others who can help enact change to help them succeed,” says, Cyndi Crane, CEO,
Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce. ”The Brighter Together survey gives us a real time look at the issues
facing our business community, so we can get to work on a gameplan for helping these businesses. That
could include policy and procedure changes that will help Lethbridge businesses.”


Results of the 2023 Brighter Together Survey showcased:

  • The 3 biggest strengths to doing business in the city of Lethbridge included quality of life, proximity
    to complimentary industries and a collaborative environment.
  • The 3 biggest perceived challenges to doing business in Lethbridge include utilities costs, municipal
    tax environment and ease of permitting & regulatory procedures.
  • Lethbridge businesses were seeking help last survey with acquiring employees, upgrading digital
    processes and strategies to retain employees.

“With the cost of doing business and life in general, rising, the Brighter Together survey is a way for us to track data year over year and look for trends that we can identify and then act on,” mentions Trevor Lewington, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Development Lethbridge. “Some of the resources we’ve offered to Lethbridge and area businesses include becoming a Rural Renewal Stream designated municipality to aid in workforce recruitment, numerous energy management options for larger industrial businesses to save on utility costs, and a number of learning and skill building business panels and forums offered through RINSA and Tecconnect.”


The 2024 edition of the Lethbridge Brighter Together survey will open tomorrow and run though mid December. Businesses who wish to participate in this year’s survey can find a link on both the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Lethbridge websites.
