Economic Development Lethbridge has received notification from the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) that Lethbridge now exceeds the maximum population threshold for the Rural Renewal Stream (RRS).
This means Lethbridge will not be eligible to renew its designation to administer the RRS and this program will cease operations here as of March 29, 2026.
As a result of this status change, we will no longer be able to issue endorsement letters to candidates. We will contact employers directly in instances whereby we are able to extend endorsement letters. We will not respond to candidate inquiries directly, as per previously outlined program rules.
We are aware that this is not the result or outcome either candidates or employers are hoping for, but the circumstances involved are beyond our control. We will continue to work with partners and the business community to address workforce needs in our community.
