Lethbridge, AB… Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL) is pleased to announce the launch of their newly
developed Choose Lethbridge website. The new website along with a newly redesigned Canada’s Premier
Food Corridor (CPFC) website will offer visitors a cleaner look, improved navigation and more engaging user
experience. The new Choose Lethbridge website offers more visual elements such as videos, photos,
infographics, charts and design elements that still display all the information users have come to expect from
the website, just presented in a much cleaner format.
“We feel our new website will allow visitors to find the information they need in a much more efficient
manner,” says Trevor Lewington, CEO, Economic Development Lethbridge. “That starts as soon as they click
onto the site. Users can select one of three pathways – Investor & Site Selector, Entrepreneur or Doing
Business. Users are directed to those pages which are full of valuable information, curated for their specific
needs.”
The website highlights many of the projects and initiatives that EDL is currently working on, houses all
publications and reports done by the organization and the programs and events page has a new look where
users can search for applicable learning opportunities and events in a calendar view or by breaking an event
down by topic. The new EDL website also has an in-depth Market Data section that can be used to examine
key economic indicators and trends in the Lethbridge Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). These new tools,
provided by CityViz can also be complied and downloaded into PDF reports.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Economic Development Lethbridge to bring the CityViz data platform to their
new website. The integration of CityViz data portal and website widgets offers powerful, user-friendly
insights into the region’s economy, helping inform decisions for businesses, investors, and the community. As
part of the launch, we also collaborated on adding custom data visualizations highlighting major employers,
key projects, and local talent pipeline — a great example of how data can support economic growth,” notes
Sasha Bogdanovic, Chief Executive Officer at CityViz
After a website development pitch competition and RFP process, Cheeky Monkey Media was selected to help
build and design the new EDL and CPFC websites. Their team worked extensively with EDL and CPFC to
explore the old websites, discuss the needs of the new builds and then deliver two newly designed websites.
Both websites are built with WordPress allowing for staff to make edits and changes as needed and use
commonly available plug ins and other tools to execute certain tasks.
The Job Seekers Hub has proven to be a popular addition to the website with a labour demand tool for
employers who want to better understand the local market as well as a job board that automatically
compiles postings from over 40 local, provincial and national sites for an easy one stop landing page for job
seekers.
The new Canada’s Premier Food Corridor website has moved from a single splash page with hyperlinks to a
more in-depth website, offering tools and resources to food and food processing companies in the region and
also a more comprehensive guide to why Lethbridge and Southern Alberta are a great choice for businesses
in the food industry looking to build and grow.
Work on both websites will continue on an ongoing basis and some plans for the future include an interactive
map of Sherring Business & Industrial Park and the addition of a chat bot, and AI technology to help website
visitors find what they are looking for.
Both websites are now live and can be found at www.chooselethbridge.ca and www.canadaspremier
foodcorridor.ca
