Lethbridge Launches Canada’s First Quantum Super Hub at Tecconnect

Lethbridge, AB – Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL), in partnership with SuperQ Quantum,
proudly announces the launch of Canada’s first Quantum Super Hub at the Tecconnect innovation
facility in Lethbridge. This milestone will be officially unveiled on Wednesday June 18th during a
presentation to the EDL Board of Directors, followed by a media-exclusive tour of the Super Hub.
This ground-breaking initiative positions Lethbridge at the forefront of quantum innovation, giving
businesses, researchers, and entrepreneurs across Southern Alberta access to cutting-edge hybrid
quantum and supercomputing capabilities.

“This partnership isn’t just about technology—it’s about transformation,” said Renae Barlow, Vice
President of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, EDL. “By anchoring Canada’s first Super Hub at Tecconnect,
we’re giving local innovators the tools to solve global problems—from agri-tech to logistics—with
computing power once thought to be years away.”

The Super Hub, powered by SuperQ Quantum’s “Super” platform, seamlessly integrates classical
computing (CPU/GPU), AI, and quantum optimization. Users can upload complex problem statements—
like supply chain bottlenecks or manufacturing inefficiencies—and the system automatically routes the
workload to the most effective computing resource. The platform is designed for accessibility, making
advanced computing available through intuitive interfaces.

“My entrepreneurial journey began in Lethbridge, and it’s only fitting that Super Hubs’ national launch
starts here,” said Dr. Muhammad Ali Khan, CEO of SuperQ Quantum. “Tecconnect has always been at the
forefront of advanced tech adoption, and now it becomes the gateway for Canadian businesses to access
quantum-powered solutions that were previously out of reach.”

Key Benefits for Lethbridge and Beyond:

  • National Leadership in Quantum Commercialization
As the first Super Hub in the country, Tecconnect puts Lethbridge on the map as a hub for
    applied quantum and hybrid computing.
  • Access for Local Industry and Entrepreneurs
Lethbridge businesses in agriculture, food processing, transportation, and more can begin
exploring pilot projects and use cases starting this fall.
  • Training, Events & Demonstrations
Workshops and industry sessions are planned to help professionals and youth understand how
to use quantum tools to solve real-world problems.
  • Attracting Talent & Investment
The Super Hub is expected to draw national and international attention, attracting new ventures,
high-tech talent, and innovation funding to the region.
  • Global Collaboration Opportunities
Through SuperQ’s international Super Hub network (Canada, U.S., UAE, India, and so on),
Lethbridge will have a front-row seat in the global conversation on emerging tech.

This initiative also reinforces EDL’s long-standing commitment to regional innovation. Notably, two of
SuperQ’s executive team members – Dr. Muhammad Khan (CEO) and Eyren Uggenti (Head of
Professional Services) – first met years ago at Tecconnect through Southern Alberta’s innovation
ecosystem.
