There’s always something to do in and around Lethbridge and it’s an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. With over 280kms of paths and trails throughout the city, walking, hiking and biking can range from a leisurely stroll around the lake to an epic ride thought the coulees and river valley.
If you’re looking for something to get your heart rate pumping check out the numerous pools, rinks, skateparks and pickleball courts throughout the city. Cavendish Farms Centre on the west side of Lethbridge is home to two ice surfaces, the Lethbridge Curling Club, and the Cor Van Raay YMCA which includes waterslides, a wave pool, aquatics classes, gymnasiums and fitness centre.
Lethbridge is also home to a thriving arts and culture scene. In the summer you can catch numerous festivals and events taking place in Galt Gardens and Festival Square. Other must see attractions include the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG), Galt Museum, CASA Community Arts Centre, Yates Memorial Centre, Helen Schuler Nature Centre and Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens.
Outside of the city limits, all within two hours of Lethbridge, Southern Alberta is home to numerous tourist attractions including 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Venues & Attractions
Lethbridge is full of must see attractions, whether you're a resident or visitor. Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is just one of the historic stops in Lethbridge, and located in Henderson Park. Established during Canada’s Centennial in 1967, Nikka Yuko was built to recognize contributions made by citizens of Japanese ancestry to the multicultural community of Lethbridge, Alberta, and as a symbol of international friendship.
Check out the Oldman River Valley
One of the many things to do and see in the city, is to take a walk, swing a club, or grab your mountain bike for a visit to the river valley. The river valley can be accessed from numerous paths and trails in the city and the Oldman River is a picturesque backdrop to both the Lethbridge Country Club and Paradise Canyon Golf Resort. The river valley is also a popular spot for family and wedding photos so chances are you'll hear some cameras mixed in with all the sounds of mother nature.
Road Trip
Southwest Alberta is filled with tourist attractions that will amaze and wonder both young and old. With 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites within two hours of Lethbridge, a day trip to Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, Waterton Lakes National Park, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump or Dinosaur Provincial Park is well worth it. The region is also home to numerous lakes and campgrounds that must be experienced.
A Night on the Town
If it's opening night of a New West Theatre production, or opening day of Whoop Up Days, the options are endless when it comes to nighttime....and daytime activities in Lethbridge. Bars and restaurants are plentiful in all areas of the city and finding a favourite hot spot will not be hard. On your own, with a partner or as a family there are always places and events to see!
