At the heart of the city, downtown Lethbridge is a collection of local shops, bars and restaurants owned and operated by some of Lethbridge’s most passionate residents. On any given day you’ll see downtown streets bustling with people visiting local businesses looking for one of a kind items and enjoying food and drinks from the many bars, restaurants and lounges in this area of Lethbridge.
Galt Gardens is the central gathering spot in downtown Lethbridge and plays host to numerous events, activities and festivals year round. The fountains that keep residents cool in the summer are only outdone by the holiday lights that adorn the mature trees every holiday season.
A recent addition to the downtown core is Festival Square. Located just off 3rd Avenue south, the location hosts the downtown farmers market in summer and in winter, when the chinooks aren’t blowing, has an ice rink where residents can go far a skate under the lights of downtown.
Safety and cleanliness are paramount in downtown Lethbridge and initiatives like the Clean Sweep and Lethbridge Police Services (LPS) Watch Program ensure that downtown Lethbridge is as clean and safe as can be.

Annual Downtown BRZ Report
Each year the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ puts out an annual report on the state of downtown Lethbridge. This report collects all relevant downtown information including leveraged funding, marketing projects, stats and figures and a look forward to next year and upcoming initiatives. EDL works closely with the staff and Board of Directors of the BRZ and looks forward to collaborating with them and other downtown organizations and businesses to help our community strive.
