Life’s a journey. Find some companions.

Oct 23, 2017
That’s Patrick McCullagh’s topic during the upcoming Ignite YQL 2017 event.

In today’s fast paced age, when everyone seems to be connected electronically, McCullagh recognized a gap in the community. So, he created the Lethbridge Sports and Social Club in January of 2017 to help adults connect with each other in the interests they love doing.

Since the club began, more than 400 members have joined to play in recreational sports and social activities.

“We’re providing opportunities for adults to engage and do activities that they might not normally do on their own,” says McCullagh. “I think a lot of people are probably living in a form of isolation even though they may have relationships but they’re not making that key relationship."

“So we provide opportunities for people to come together and do sport and recreational activities. We’re all about welcoming everyone of all abilities . . . It’s really just about going out and enjoying the experience.”

Ignite YQL takes place Thursday October 26 at the ENMAX Centre: Canadian Western Bank Lounge from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and in addition to Patrick, will feature nine other presentations all linked to the theme of building a bright community. Ticket sales close at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 23. Get yours today!
