Building Community After University

Jessica’s involvement with various groups in the community has been a driving force in her goal of connecting with community.

Born in Cranbrook, BC, Jessica moved to Lethbridge to attend university for 'only four years'. However, after taking five years to graduate, she has found she really loves this city and plans to stick around for 'a little while longer '.

Since coming to Lethbridge, she has become an active member of the community through various groups such as Rotary/Rotaract, The Eye Opener Toastmasters, as well as volunteering with numerous non-profits and events.  More recently, she worked with a group of her friends (including fellow Ignite participant Ammar Shahid) to bring the LinkedIn local movement to Lethbridge as #LinkedInYQL with the goal of connecting the community.

As much as she loves Lethbridge, she takes any chance she can to travel, having been to over 23 countries and recently accomplished the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru.

When she has spare time, she can be found making bad puns, scouring thrift shops, knitting, drinking wine or petting the closest dog.

She is looking forward to Ignite YQL and hopes you are too!
