Largest biogas cogeneration project in Canada opens in Lethbridge

After more than 12 years of planning and preparation, the $30 million state-of-the-art facility is opened. Lethbridge BioGas uses manure and other organic wastes to produce gas, generating enough electricity to power 2,800 homes. The project is estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 224,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2020.
