Knowledge economy diversification a focus for EDL

After completing research around knowledge economy investment attraction, the Economic Development Lethbridge team develops strategies to move forward with a Targeted Investment Attraction Plan for Geospatial Technologies. As part of this focus, representatives from EDL head to Edmonton to attend GeoAlberta 2013, a conference that brings together more than 450 national and international professionals to discuss geospatial information, network with key industry contacts and explore new opportunities.

“Our Board recognizes that wealth-generating industries will continue to be a key priority and this niche market focus on knowledge economy growth will help to retain our highly-skilled post-secondary graduates, contribute to the province of Alberta’s long-term economic strength and diversify the area economy,” adds EDL Board Chair Walter Kalkan.
