Lethbridge GDP grows by $487 million

The Conference Board of Canada releases first ever Mid-Sized Cities Outlook, which means Lethbridge now has statistical data that has not been typically available in the past. The statistics show that 8,800 jobs were gained in Lethbridge between 2005 and 2012 which is more than Red Deer, Grande Prairie or Medicine Hat during this period.

“For a number of years, we have been encouraging the economic think tanks to create this kind of report as deeper economic trends require strong understanding of core impacts over time,” says Economic Development Lethbridge Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Dick. “Going forward, this will help us to better understand and compare our competitive environment and interpret the trends for the future.”
